Hong Kong Canaries meeting and we are out of the bottom 3!

LAST WEEK is great for Norwich City fans, especially we register another win at Carrow Road, three points against last season Premier League relegated team Sheffield United, but not thanks to the linesman make a correct and brave decision, to deny them the late late equaliser! If not we must feel like defeat, for sure.

I would like to talk about what's happen on last Friday first, because it's the third meeting on the "Hong Kong Canaries", which also means the first meeting after we become OFFICIAL -- if you take a look at the our Official Matchday Programme of the Plymouth Argyle game, page 59, about the supporters club, "Hong Kong Canaries" is there and it has my name and e-mail address there. If you are in Hong Kong and want to join us, please leave a message in this blog or send e-mail to me.

As usual liked the last meeting, our venue is in the Mariners Club at Tsim Sha Tsui, 7pm to 11pm, although most of the lads arrive after 8pm! I have day off on that day, so I have plenty of time to get the room decorate, with the Norwich City programme and banner! The staffs in the Mariners Club is very interested about our badge, and was shocked to know I am a Norwich City fans, because they believe I should be support the "Big Four" team!

Our meeting start with watching last season's season review together, with many hot food served, and lots of coke and beer. Our highlight is mainly surround by two players -- Darren Huckerby and Dion Dublin! Bob comment look at what we have done last season, is mainly about Hucks and Dion, and both are so important for us. I reply Dion Dublin should continue to play until 50 years old!

We are little bit running out of time of finish watching the whole DVD, but I remember we finish the night with Hucks "goal of the season" against Birmingham City, yeah and well, you know they are my most hated team! Hucks beat defender after defender, after defender, and then smash a lovely long range shot, and wins the game and 3 points for us! Absolutely Premiership class.

What a great night and it's very nice to meet some new member liked David, who has posted a message in here, also nice to meet Bob, James, Peter x 2 and everyone there if I miss the name. Let's hope we can pass through the 3rd round of the FA Cup, and we can draw a Premiership team at home, and possibly, we can have another meeting again very soon. At the end of this column I will post the link of the picture we had taken.

WHAT A win against Sheffield United on last Saturday! Thanks to the other results go to our way, we are now a point out of the drop zone and come on the Yellow & Green army, do not look back now and stay away from the bottom 3!

I read many messages from fans, they have been so optimistic because they think we are going to challenge the play-offs! I really don't think in this way, let's make sure we pick up maximum points at Carrow Road, and make sure we perform away from home, then we can start to think about advance to another level.

Thanks to Canareis World and oh, I should use this space to praise them because in last 3 matches, they have a special feature and has at least 10 minutes of the extended highlights, which also has the commentary of Chris Goreham and Neil Adams, which is 100 times better than the commentator provide by the FLPTV Limited commentator, they are absolutely awful! They even cannot pronounce our player's name correct.

Ched Evans second goal in two start, which is a good one: Hucks does his job as usual on the left wing, although his cross is not his high standard, but fit-again Jimmy Smith, well he's not really fit to be honest, wins the header, Evans get to the position and make the right contact; not the most powerful shot you should see but it's too close to the goalkeeper, so Paddy Kenny is beaten! 1-0 and it's running again!

After that it's all Sheffield United, they take control of the game, but we perform quite soildly and we sorely miss Darel Russell in midfield because of suspension. Fortunately we hold on, and from the highlights, especially in the second half, they are all over against us, but Hucks waste two golden chances to kill off the game, one of his trademark solo run which brings a good save from the keeper, and another one after he draw the keeper out, but his shot only find the side-netting!

About the disallowed goal, well, the camera angle would suggest the player "might be" offside to be honest! I have to say that because it's what exactly I see, but yeah sometimes you really need a break. We must have to get those 3 points, to get out of the bottom 2. I think Glenn Roeder, Lee Clark and Paul Stephenson absolutely deserved the credit.

This weekend bring the late kick-off against Colchester United at Layer Road, last season we lost 0-3 there and Curo scored against us. We know he leaves them in a quite sour note and with the current scoring form, I would like to see Curo start on the bench because we need fire power, also can take some pressure out from him. I will listen the game of course and hopefully, we can play well and pick up point.

Hi David

Good to see the HK canaries getting together. There are probably Canaries in every country in the world! I have met quite a few in New Zealand where I live.

Hi Rob, thanks for reading my blog and leave a message. Yeah I am sure there are lots of Canaries fans around the world but I tell you it's not easy to get them together because of the lack of TV coverage, anyway I will work hard to do the job. Thanks for your comment and keep coming back! :)

David,

Great to hear from you as always. Good to see you keeping the flag waving over there. Next time I am HK side I will hopefully come along. I was really jealous to read of you recent exploits in Norwich, although the trip to Wycombe and bus ride complications did not sound quite so amazing!

Although born and raised in Norwich at the moment I am living in Iceland, so also have to make do with the online commentary, which I think is more nerve wracking than being at the matches! I was a season ticket holder for many years but the only time I remember being more nervous than the recent Sheff Utd and Scunthorpe is at Cardiff for the Playoff final!

Anyway, it looks as if we surely won't be relegated this season so things are looking good.

Have a great Christmas
